We assume that the world turns on a moral compass – that somewhere within all human beings lies a certain morality that allows us to distinguish ourselves from the rest of the animal kingdom.  However, today I am more deeply disheartened than ever before to see the depths to which some will fall in the name of religious fervor.  The women who were detonated by remote control at the bazaar in Iraq were innocents who paid with their lives the price of living in a country where zealots will do anything to achieve their religious ambitions.  In reaction to this event, Muslims everywhere should ban together to fight against such zealotry. Don’t leave the search of justice to the occupying forces who are trying to help Iraq repair itself after the removal of Saddam Hussein. The fight for justice, here, should be led by Muslims who believe their country deserves civility and morality, not murder and terrorism. These terrorists have lost their morality and have sunk to the level of wild animals fighting over fresh kill. How could anyone with one iota of civilized blood condone such an action?  This abhorrent behavior demands a reaction from the Muslim world – a reaction that underscores morality and justice and reviles such inhumane and despicable actions.
